Deerhunter's latest LP, Microcastles, has been set for an October 28 release through Kranky. (4AD will handle it overseas.) According to Pitchfork, the 12-track effort features a "vocal collage" from Cole Alexander of the Black Lips ("Saved by Old Times") and lead vocal turns from guitarist Lockett Pundt on two tracks ("Agoraphobia," "Neither of Us, Uncertainly"). Former guitarist Colin Mee is missing from the album, as is recent recruit Whitney Petty. A limited 7-inch of "Nothing Ever Happened"/"Little Kids (Demo)" will be the LP's first single.

Tour wise, Deerhunter is playing a number of dates over the next couple months, as is Atlas Sound, the side project of frontman Bradford Cox.
