Vanessa Minnillo, who exited her MTV TRL hosting gig well over a year ago, is making another move to the silver screen. The star, perhaps better known in the gossip pages as the girlfriend of crooner Nick Lachey, as well as for being a former Miss Teen USA, is currently filming a starring role in the upcoming Redefining Love. The film is due out in 2009, with very few details about the plot arc, characters, and castmates being revealed at this time. It's being filmed in North Carolina.

Minnillo's most recent movie role was in last summer's high profile Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, where she had a blink-and-you'll-miss-her cameo as Johnny Storm's arm candy date to his sister's wedding. Minnillo's role in Love is apparently a big one and word is the budding actress is nervous and hopes to do justice to the part that the film's writers so carefully crafted. We guess her fledgling acting chops will remain to be seen when the movie hits theaters or DVD players.

In other MTV-related news, Audrina Patridge of the reality show drama fest, The Hills, is making the leap to movies, as well. The brunette has joined the cast of the underwater treasure thriller Into the Blue 2. She'll play—what else?—a beach babe.
