Former Blink-182 guy Tom DeLonge has long suffused himself in paranormal scientific theories and UFO research advocacy. Now he's putting his money where his mouth is, opening the To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences. The new Academy will focus on subjects long considered to be outside the realm of the traditional sciences (or at least the traditional sciences as defined by restrictive government entities). Three teams, Science, Aerospace, and Entertainment, will research, build, and deploy new technologies, while bringing the information to the masses in the form of movies, television series, and books.
Members of the To The Stars Academy reportedly include former CIA and Department of Defense officials, as well as a former Advanced Systems Director for Lockheed Martin's "Skunk Works" projects, who said with regards to the new Academy, "Revolutionary is too mild of a word." From the TTS website: "We believe...there is sufficient credible evidence of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena that proves exotic technologies exist that could revolutionize the human experience."
The Academy's Science wing will create a human ultra-experience database while studying futuristic brain-computer interface technology, the space-time metric, and telepathy. The Aerospace department's focuses will include beamed energy propulsion launch systems and advanced electrogravitic propulsion. The Entertainment group will synthesize new discoveries and technologies to produce storytelling that inspires and educates.
President and CEO DeLonge's personal statement reveals a curious mind with long-held aspirations to help the entirety of the human race:
"Since I was a kid, I have sought answers. That search led me to the escape of music, expressing thoughts through my lyrics, my voice and guitar. But music was only part of the search. Over the years my mind constantly swirled with thoughts of the unexplainable and the hope that unlocking these mysteries would possibly be the key to a better future for my kids."
Fans of alternative science can invest in the To The Stars Academy in $5 shares, with a minimum investment of $200. So far, 484 investors have raised over $233,900.
